Mid 19^th century. Patterned after the British cavalry pistol with 10 ½” .55 cal octagonal barrel foliate engraved at the breach. Tang band and flat lockplate matching. Swivel ramrod. Walnut stock nicely carved throughout and inlaid with mother of pearl to the wrist and left side. Barrel with frosty brown oxidation. Lock matching with crisp detail intact.
